Second Annual Land Use Training Program to be offered by The Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies and Hofstra School of Law

Program offered as a public service to key decision makers on land use and transit development on Long Island

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Fulfill your New York state training requirement and earn continuing legal education credits while attending the Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials.  This program is being offered by The Breslin Center in collaboration with Hofstra School of Law and The Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University at no charge on September 22, 2008 from 5:15-9:30 p.m. at the Hofstra University Club, David S. Mack Hall, North Campus.

The focus of this year’s presentation will be on “Downtown and Transit-Oriented Development” which will include a land use law update. A light dinner will be served.

Ashira Ostrow, Hofstra University assistant professor of law, will act as the moderator. The panelists include Ann Golob, project director, Long Island Index, Rauch Foundation; Honorable Steve Bellone, supervisor, Town of Babylon; and Michael E. White, Esq., executive director, Long Island Regional Planning Board.

A land use update by Benjamin Weinstock, Esq., partner and co-chair of the Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. real estate department and Mark S, Mulholland, Esq., co-managing partner of the Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. litigation department will follow the panel presentation.

The goal of the program is to help planning and zoning officials better address land use decisions that have become increasingly complex. It is also intended to fulfill the New York state training requirement for municipal and zoning officials and provide five CLE credits in professional practice for non-transitional attorneys.
