Hof USA Unveils New Look
Hof USA Reopening Celebration Set for Friday
Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y. – Students can win an iPad, munch on free food samples, compete in a wing-eating contest and much more on Friday, Sept. 16 when Hofstra University and the Division of Student Affairs celebrates the reopening of the recently remodeled Hof USA, an on-campus restaurant and student activity center located on the North Campus. Central improvements to Hof USA include a redesign of the restaurant area layout and furnishings, as well as the expansion of Dutch Treats, a 24-hour food service venue.
“Hof USA should be a big hit,” said Peter Libman, dean of students at Hofstra. “The new improvements and the close proximity to campus residence halls will make this venue a place for students to make connections, socialize, dine and have fun. A primary goal is to make Hof USA a hub of campus activity and a central location for club, organization and university sponsored events, seven days a week.”
Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz and Dean Libman will provide opening remarks at the reopening program scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. The first 250 students to arrive at the celebration, which will begin at 4 p.m., will receive a Hof USA t-shirt and an opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including an iPad, an iPod shuffle and an Xbox system. Numerous activities will follow the opening ceremony, including billiards and “dance dance revolution” (DDR) tournaments, student performances and a wing-eating contest. The event will conclude at 6:30 p.m., with a regular programming schedule, including Friday night Karaoke, to follow.
Hofstra University is a dynamic private institution where students can choose from 140 undergraduate and 150 graduate programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, communication, education and allied health services, honors, as well as a School of Law and the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
