Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials On Sept. 26
Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York – The Hofstra University Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies in collaboration with the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, Nassau County Planning Commission and The Institute of Real Estate Studies presents Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 5:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, north campus. The program allows attendees to fulfill their New York state training requirement and earn continuing legal education credits.The program includes presentations by the Honorable Mark Lesko, Supervisor, Town of Brookhaven on Reinventing Suburbia, Steven G. Leventhal, Esq., CPA, former chair of the Nassau County Board of Ethics, with an Ethics Update, and a panel presentation focused on Best Practices for Public Hearings, Moderator/Commentator, Ashira Ostrow, Associate Professor of Law, Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, panelists Martha Krisel, Esq., Chief Deputy Nassau County Attorney for Special Projects, Steven G. Leventhal, Esq., CPA, Kevin McAndrew, RLA, LEED, Partner, Cameron Engineering & Associates, LLP, Michael Sahn, Esq., Chair, Board of Zoning Appeals, Incorporated Village of Flower Hill and David Paul Weiss, Esq., Chair, Board of Zoning Appeals, Town of Hempstead. The goal of this program is to help planning and zoning officials better address land use decisions that have become increasingly complex.
