Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … The Hofstra Cultural Center and Hofstra Hillel will present the Fall 2011  Issues in Judaism Lecture Series titled “The Periphery of the Diaspora: Mongolia, Manchuria, Birobidzhan/Siberia and Beyond.”
The series is supported in part by the Dorothy and Elmer Kirsch Endowment Fund for the Hofstra Cultural Center.
All lectures will be presented by Rabbi Marvin Tokayer, renowned lecturer on the remote Jewish communities of the world; author of The Fugu Plan and 40 other books; and historical consultant for the award-winning PBS documentary Sugihara: Conspiracy of Kindness (about Japan’s “unsung Schindler”).

The lectures are Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Guthart Cultural Center Theater, 1st Floor, Axinn Library, South Campus. Tickets for the lectures are available by subscription only for $20, $18 for senior citizens and $15 for matriculated non-Hofstra students with ID.
