Hofstra Holds Alpha Site Launch of Video Game Halo 3

Microsoft, Hofstra students to co-sponsor competitive tournament

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University will hold an Alpha Site Launch of the popular Microsoft game Halo 3 on October 13, 2007 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Greenhouse, located in the basement of the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, north campus.  

Halo 3, the third game in a series, is a first-person, shooter video game developed by Bungie Studios exclusively for Xbox 360. The game was released on September 26, 2007 and holds the record for the highest grossing opening day in video game history as well as the fastest pre-selling game in U.S. history.

The launch will include a competitive tournament. There is a $5 entry fee. Participants can register for the tournament at http://www.asciiphilomath.com/sacn/halo3. A free Halo 3 game and various gift cards will be given away at the launch. Refreshments will be available. A Hofstra Gaming Club representative will be on hand to answer any questions in regards to the game and the system.
