Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University’s Alcohol Awareness Week, a week devoted to raising awareness of the misuse of alcohol, features a personal story of triumph, healthier lifestyle choices to have a good time, and an opportunity for the Hofstra community to join together through art and share their stories of how alcohol has impacted their lives.

“Alcohol Awareness Week is an opportunity to educate our students regarding alcohol use and abuse, and also show students that they can have a good time without alcohol,” said Dean of Students Peter Libman. “As educators, it’s important to not only bring attention to this issue during this one week, but through out the entire year”.

National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week is promoted on over 3,000 campuses around the country.  All of the events are designed to reinforce personal responsibility and respect for state laws and school policies when it comes to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. The events also promoted healthy lifestyle choices and attempt to combat negative stereotypes of college drinking trends and behaviors.
