HOFSTRA PRESIDENT STUART RABINOWITZ WINS SPIRIT OF LONG ISLAND AWARD


Hempstead, NY -- Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz today was presented with a Spirit of Long Island Award for outstanding Long Islanders by Promote Long Island, NY, Inc.

President Rabinowitz was honored with the Spirit of Long island Education Award at the group's annual awards breakfast in Melville. Other recipients of Spirit Awards were Msgr. Tom Hartman and Rabbi Marc Gellman, The "God Squad;" Kevin McAllister, president of Peconic Baykeeper; Rauch Foundation President Nancy Rauch Douzinas; Roslyn Savings Bank Executive Director Sharon G. Grosser; and Matt Crosson, president of the Long Island Association.

The mission of Promote Long Island is to foster and promote public awareness and appreciation of Long Island, particularly the benefits of living on Long Island, and Long Island's regional economy, thereby fostering a positive community identity.
