Hofstra University students featured on The Martha Stewart Show

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY - Andrea Klerides of Medford, NY and Samuel Rubenfeld of Centereach, NY were recently featured on The Marta Stewart Show as a result of their participation in the final presidential debate held on October 15, 2008 at Hofstra University.

Andrea’s involvement with the debate ranged from covering the event for WRHU Radio Hofstra University, the campus radio station, to working long, sometimes grueling hours as a student security volunteer.

Sam worked as a reporter, live blogging for The Chronicle, the campus newspaper.

Andrea and Sam both attended the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO over the summer and said their experiences at both the convention and on The Martha Stewart Show were rewarding and surreal.

“Truthfully, I wasn't nervous about being on the show.” Andrea says, “But more worried about sounding intelligent and remaining poised!”

On the show, Andrea and Sam spent some time with Martha answering questions about politics and sharing their feelings about the presidential debate.  They were also invited up on stage to sample some of Martha's cooking.

Andrea is a junior studying broadcast journalism and Sam is a senior studying print journalism.
