Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University students will be reporting on-site from local Democratic and Republican headquarters as they cover this year’s mid-term elections for WRHU, Radio Hofstra University.

Other students interested in watching the election night returns will gather at the Political Junkies’ Election Night Party, sponsored by the Political Science Department.

WRHU will begin its biggest broadcasting night of the year at 8 p.m. with live coverage of the returns and will feature interviews with candidates such as New York Democratic gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer, U. S. Sen. Hilary Clinton, and Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic candidate for state Attorney General.  Reporters will be at all local Democratic and Republican headquarters, as well as the Democratic headquarters in Manhattan.

The Political Junkies’ Election Night Party will take place in the Student Center Multipurpose Room from 7 to 10:45 p.m. Students will be able to follow the local state and national races on a big screen video and receive up-to-the-minute information, including Internet updates.  Food and beverages will be served.
