Hofstra University Student Joins Riverdance

Ryan McCarthy to tour with Irish Step Dancers

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Majoring in Liberal Arts and studying to be a certified Irish Dance teacher, Hofstra University Junior Ryan McCarthy is headed on tour with the famous Irish Step Dancers of Riverdance.

A native of Uniondale, Long Island, Ryan will be dancing throughout the country with the Boyne Company chorus from January through June, 2007.

Ryan began dancing when he was 11 years old and, now at the age of 20, holds a World, All-Ireland, two national, and two regional dance championship titles.

Ryan can currently be seen in the Celtic Journey show, presented by the Schade Academy of Irish Dancing in Levittown under the direction of Mary Lou Schade.  His next and final show before he begins touring will be Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 8pm at the Jeanne Rimsky Theatre in Port Washington.
