As a new student, you will have received some information about financial aid in the mail and already know that there are many options to help you pay for college.

This website is designed to help you make the most of those options by giving you step by step guidance. So let's begin.

Meet your SFS Counselor

Log into your portal at my.hofstra.edu

Get Your Personal Identification Number(s) so you can apply for Financial Aid.

Complete and File Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 of the year for which you are seeking aid. This is the most important step of all!

NY State Residents only: apply for New York's Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

Wait for your financial aid package from Hofstra, which will tell your financial aid awards and what next steps you need to take.

If you were awarded a Stafford Loan in your package and wish to accept it, complete the federal Stafford Loan Electronic Master Promissory Note (E-mpn) And Counseling Session
