Naach features teams from all over the East Coast, with dances ranging from Classical Indian dance to Bhangra to hip-hop and step. Cash prize goes to the winners, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Sankara Eye Foundation, restoring the gift of sight to blind children in South Asia.

A staged reading directed by Bob Spiotto
Eduardo De Filippo, possibly the finest and certainly the funniest and most beloved playwright in Italy, was a great Neapolitan actor who wrote dozens of plays for his own theater company. His plays are all superb comedies, yet always based on strong human emotions.

Guest artist Cathy Young, a choreographer and jazz dance scholar, will restage her 2010 piece, Flash/Back. The musical score references 1960s cool jazz and 1940s swing, and the movement is inspired by high-energy vernacular dances of the past, including the Charleston and Lindy Hop. Also on the program is choreography by Hofstra faculty members Giada Ferrone, Niles Ford, Amy Marshall, Maxine Steinman, and Karla Wolfangle.
