Michelle M. Hall
Assistant Director, Multicultural & International Student Programs

Michelle Hall is one of two Assistant Directors for Multicultural & International Student Programs. She has been with the Office since October 2002, and serves as a campus expert on all matters related to the United States Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS). She currently serves as the Regional Representative for the "Black & Multicultural Professionals in International Education" for Region X of NAFSA: The Association of International Educators. Michelle graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in communications and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Communication as well. She is the faculty advisor for the Hofstra Gospel Ensemble and works closely with HINT, the organization for international students at Hofstra. She is also very active in national and local Gospel networks as well.
Annick Aska
Assistant Director, Multicultural & International Student Programs

Annick Aska is the Assistant Director of the Office of Multicultural & International Student Programs. She is a proud graduate of Hofstra University where she most recently earned a Masters degree in Higher Education Administration. Annick is originally from the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia and she joined the Hofstra team in 2003 and has played an integral role in international and multicultural student life at Hofstra since her arrival. Prior to working as the Assistant Director of the Office, Annick worked as the Graduate Assistant for Multicultural and International Student Programming on campus as well as serving as a Student Assistant in the Office of International and Study Abroad Programs. She enjoys working with students and looks forward to continuing great work with the Office.
Evelyn H. Mackenzie, Senior Executive Secretary
Evelyn has been working at Hofstra for twenty seven years starting as a stack attendant in the Axinn Library and then working in the Circulation Department for eight years. She also worked in University Advisement for approximately five years before becoming the Secretary in the International Students Office which is now known as the Office of Multicultural & International Student Programs. Evelyn was born and raised in Uniondale, NY and lived there until 1995 when she moved to Huntington Station, NY. On a personal note, she is married to her Husband Chuck, has four children and is awaiting the birth of her third grandson who is due to arrive in February, 2010.
Tineka Brown, Graduate Assistant
Tineka graduated from Hofstra University May, 2009 with a degree in Sociology and Fine Arts. She is from Long Island, New York. She was involved in community service and other activities during her undergraduate experience. She was the student coordinator of the 2009 Alternative Spring Break trip to New Orleans, she was able to encourage her peers to give back through volunteer work. She was a Genocide Fellow in the Genocide Fellows Program, which allowed her to bring awareness of the horrible atrocities that are going on in the world today. Her academic research experiences as an undergraduate gave her an opportunity to help find solutions to the problems that exist in our communities. She is now a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Multicultural and International Student Programs and is pursuing her Masters Degree in Applied Social Research and Policy Analysis. She hopes to build on her foundation, on issues of social justice and gain the tools she needs to move forth on her path. Tineka looks forward to making a positive impact on the Hofstra community. She is excited about continuing at Hofstra University, and being a part of the MISPO team.
Samantha Bucher, Graduate Assistant
Samantha graduated from Hofstra in May, 2008 with a BA in Italian and a minor in Fine Arts. Born in Brooklyn but raised in Central Pennsylvania, she spent two of her undergraduate years working as a Resident Assistant and one year living abroad in Milan, Italy. After graduation she returned to Milan where she was working as an English teacher in a Milanese high school. Samantha returned to Hofstra in August, 2009 to join the MISPO team and pursue her graduate degree in Education and Teaching English as a Second Language. She is excited to be working in the Office of Multicultural & International Student Programs and looking forward to many great experiences with a wonderful team.
