  • Elaine Pasqua (guest speaker) 8:00 p.m., Monroe Theater.

Elaine Pasqua is one of the most dynamic and popular speakers on sexual assault, high risk drinking, and sexual health in the U.S. and will be talking about how inconsequential decisions can be life-altering.   • The Clothesline Project Decorate a t-shirt for the Clothesline Project from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., in Breslin Hall, South Campus. The Clothesline Project started with a small, core group of women, many of whom had experienced some form of personal violence, who wanted to find a unique way to take staggering, mind-numbing statistics and turn them into a provocative, "in-your-face" educational and healing tool. Wednesday, March 16th

  • The Plan Van Comes to Hofstra! 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., West Circle Lot (in the loop between the Student Center and Alliance). Student Advocates for Safer Sex (SASS) is hosting the Plan Van again, just in time for Spring Break! Visit the Plan Van for free STI testing. The van has the capacity to test for HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. HIV is tested by a blood test (finger prick); gonorrhea and chlamydia are done by a urine test. All information provided is confidential and appointments tend to last about 15 minutes. For questions, please contact sasshofstra@gmail.com.
  • Personal Safety Session 11:15 a.m. – 12:40 p.m., Student Center, Plaza Room Middle.  Meet civic leaders from our community, neighbors and property owners from the surrounding Hofstra area. Learn how to be a good neighbor, fire safety tips, social host law and why all three elements are important to now to enhance your off-campus experience.   • Safe Driving Pledge 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Student Center Atrium. Join the Office of Off-Campus Living and Commuting Student Services in pledging to drive safely! Swing by to get some facts about safe driving and take the pledge.  For more information please call 516-463-3469.

Tuesday, March 22nd

  • FREE Safe Spring Break Survival Kits: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Student Center Atrium.  Complete a Safe Spring Break pledge and get a free kit, they include condoms, hand sanitizer, lip balm with SPF 15, sun screen, toiletries and a sweet treat!
  • Safe Spring Break Pledge: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Student Center Atrium.  Join the Office of Student Advocacy and Prevention Awareness in pledging to make healthy choices and stay safe during spring break.  Work Hard, Play Safe and Live Well: this pledge asks students to commit to a number of safe and responsible behaviors that could diminish the chance of alcohol-related injury/harm to themselves and others.
