Hofstra University is a fully engaged member of the Long Island community. Our campus offers visitors a wide variety of activities and services, our students are engaged in community service, and our faculty and administrators are active participants and leaders. In addition, the University offers many educational and civic engagement opportunities for students and visitors throughout the year. We host hundreds of cultural events on our beautiful 240-acre campus in Hempstead, New York. As an arboretum, there are few places on Long Island that provide a better place for a beautiful walk, while Hofstra's sports facilities are a great place to see the nation's highest level of collegiate athletics. From the varied visual arts to the numerous theatrical and musical performances, there are ample opportunities for must-see events, while Hofstra University Continuing Education provides opportunities to expand your horizons, advance your career or learn a new skill.

The Hofstra Cultural Center hosts international scholarly conferences, as well as exhibitions, performances, various supplemental events, and other cultural activities.
The Hofstra University Museum is dedicated to furthering the understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts.
The Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center at Hofstra University offers services to the surrounding community in four clinics and a fully licensed early childhood program.

Public Service
The University makes facilities available for events in service to the public: good government, public presentations and hearings.
Host for Long Island Regional Planning Council meetings, Governor Cuomo’s visits: People First and the Executive Budget, the 2010 New York State Gubernatorial Debate. Partnering with Nassau County to bring the 2011 Empire State Games back to Long Island. In the 2011-2012 year, hosted public interest events for the Urban League of Long Island, the Interfaith Nutrition Network, the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council’s Tobacco Cessation Project, NYS Senate Senior Health Fair, Island Harvest’s Micah Conference and the NYS Medicaid Task Force hearings.
Hofstra has hosted many public meetings and hearings for the New York State Senate and state agencies, federal officials, village of Hempstead and Nassau County government.
Hofstra University supports many of Long Island’s charitable organizations, especially those serving the surrounding community and/or dedicated to youth and education, health and wellness, regional economic development, and diversity: North Shore-LIJ Health System and the Katz Women’s Hospital, the Interfaith Nutrition Network, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, the Fair Media Council, LISTnet, the Long Island Association, Vision Long Island, YMCA of Long Island, 100 Black Men, EAC, Erase Racism, the Press Club of Long Island, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hempstead.

Conference Services provides facilities for outside groups wishing to rent meeting rooms and other facilities on the Hofstra campus. Preference is always given to academic and student events on campus.
