Description: Reporting to the Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Revenue Officer, the Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs is a senior member of the Athletic Department’s external relations team. This position is responsible for generating revenue through sponsorships and strategic partnerships as well as overseeing the ticket sales goals. This position has supervision of sport programs as well as other administrative areas.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Development
• Responsible for establishing and achieving fundraising goals for the athletic department.
• Work with head coaches to meet and exceed sport specific goals.
• Serve as athletic administrator for the Pride Club Board of Directors.
• Assist in the organization of the department of athletics events including but not limited to homecoming, alumni days, and golf outings.
• Manage a donor portfolio of 100 prospects and meet annual solicitation, meeting, and dollars raised goals.
• Oversee all hospitality areas for athletic events.
• Orchestrate annual giving day efforts with institutional advancement.

Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment
• Responsible for the solicitation and sale of corporate sponsorships for the athletics department.
• Must identify corporate sponsorship inventory available to the corporate community.
• Responsible for the execution of sponsorship contracts and the mailing and tracking of invoices and payments.
• Responsible for the fulfillment of sponsorship contracts from the University’s perspective.
• Responsible for corporate sponsor cultivation and entertainment.
• Coordinates and serves as the liaison with the University Development Office and Alumni Relations Office to ensure that all athletic efforts to solicit funding are controlled and managed in the University’s best interests.
• Responsible for the marketing and sales of all athletic inventory including signage, program sales, radio/television sales, promotions, poster, and schedule card sales.
• Coordinates with the Deputy Director of Athletics regarding advertising copy, game day audio and visuals, game day advertising opportunities, barter programs, and corporate entertainment.
• Acts as a liaison between the corporate community and the Pride Club, soliciting Pride Club donations with corporate sponsorships.
• Coordinates with the ticket office on the distribution of tickets to corporate sponsors.

Oversee the Marketing and Ticketing Office
• Responsible for reaching the set ticket revenue goal each year.
• Oversees the marketing and promotions office working with its staff on a daily basis regarding marketing, promotions, student initiatives, advertising, season ticket sales, and group sales initiatives.
• Manages the Director of Creating and Digital Marketing Strategy.
• Oversees the Athletic Ticket Office staff, which includes the Director of Fan Engagement and Ticketing, the Ticket Office part-time ticket sellers, and student workers. Coordinate with this staff the solicitation, sales, printing, and distribution of tickets for all ticketed athletic events. Complies with all University policies for depositing ticket revenue.

Other
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
• Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations, will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Also, may be responsible for any act or omission that may give rise to a finding that the University has violated an NCAA regulation.

Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Association, and the NCAA.

This position requires working nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to attend appropriate athletic events.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Five to six years of revenue generation experience, preferably in college athletics.
• Experience in sponsorship sales, marketing and/or ticket sales.
• Graphic design experience.
