BA Major in Psychology

The BA program provides students with a broad background in the methods, theories, and research findings of various fields within psychology – for example, neuroscience, clinical psychology, social psychology, behavior modification, health psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, cognition and memory, human development, and the history of psychology.

BS Major in Psychology

This program is designed for students who wish to concentrate their undergraduate studies in psychology and continue post-graduate studies in medicine or other health-related professions.

BS Major in Neuroscience

Neuroscience majors combine coursework in psychology, biology and chemistry to gain insight and understanding about how the brain, body and nervous system work. Students who pursue a neuroscience degree often go into medicine, teaching or research, including robotics and bioengineering.

Neuroscience is generally designed to provide rigorous preparation for advanced study in a PhD program. In addition to coursework in psychology and biology, classes in physics and chemistry are also required

To declare the major, set up an appointment with Dr. Robin Flaton, the assistant chair of advisement.

When you declare the psychology major, a faculty advisor will be assigned to you. If you have already declared the major but do not know who your faculty advisor is, please email Ms. Carmela Salvatore.

During the summer and fall 2020, please email the Assistant Chair for Advisement (Dr. Robin Flaton) to ask quick questions, go over forms and policies, or to plan schedules. Include your 700 number. If necessary, a Zoom meeting will be set up.
