Employees at Hofstra University have the opportunity to support the community through a number of campus wide initiatives throughout the year.
Close to 2,000 men, women and children in our community, including cancer, transplant and surgery patients, trauma victims, newborn babies, and many others need blood transfusions each day. Since blood lasts only 42 days, area hospitals are in real need. We can change that. The Hofstra University community partners with Long Island Blood Services twice annually to give the gift of life in a campus wide blood drive. Please consider making a donation. Appointments can be made by contacting Elizabeth Lorentzen. Walk-ins are welcome.
Our next blood drive is Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm in the Student Center, Multipurpose Room.
The Interfaith Nutrition Networks (INN) is a non-profit agency that provides food, shelter, long-term housing and supportive programs to disadvantages individuals and families across Long Island. Every winter, during the holiday season, Hofstra employees support the INN by providing them with needed supplies (e.g., clothing, blankets, toiletries, toys, etc.) that they distribute to Long Island families.
