Duties and Skills:

Provides first-line hardware, software, networking and printer support to faculty, administrators, staff and students of Hofstra Law School.
Escalates problems as needed to supervisor.
Prepares and configures computer equipment, including installation of appropriate software.
Inventory maintenance of all hardware devices.
Training will be provided but hiring preference will be for people who have help desk support and advanced technical skills.

Qualifications: |
Required Skills: Has a basic familiarity with computers and a willingness to learn during training. Experience with Microsoft Windows, MAC OS-X and Microsoft Office. Strong customer service and ability to work under pressure.
Desired Skills (one or more): Knowledge in hardware and networking, with particular emphasis on wireless networking. Knowledge in classroom technology support (Computer Projector, Sound systems, screen capture technology) Knowledge of database design and management, SQL, MS Access, VBA Knowledge of Web programming (Java, JSP, PhP, HTML, CSS) Technical and development knowledge of mobile operating system “iOS” Instructional technologies/Graphic designing knowledge Help Desk experience preferred, but not required IT or Computer Science major is preferred, but not required
