Description: This position provides clerical office support to the Department Chair and faculty members. At the direction of the Chair, the Part-time Secretary will be responsible for the day-to-day office operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Greets visitors and callers, handles their inquiries and directs them to the appropriate individual. Schedules appointments with Department Chair.
Assists department faculty with clerical office support tasks relating to grant-funded projects. Confers with Professors and orders required textbooks each semester. Prepares and posts Departmental Schedule each semester. Sets up and maintains department calendars each semester. Assists students with registration process by submitting overrides.
Orders equipment and supplies. Maintains general office supply inventory and places supply orders with W.B. Mason. Maintains office equipment. Orders items with corporate credit card and maintains Transaction Log of all purchases. Completes, submits and maintains records on all Purchase Requisitions. Follows-up to ensure items are received and arranges for payment on received items. Reconciles monthly Master Card Statement.
Make travel arrangements - orders buses, car services, etc. Completes Check Requisitions for travel reimbursements and maintains records.
Submit Work Orders and Key Requests to Plant Department.
Distributes incoming mail and packages.
Supervises Federal Work Study Student Aide. Verifies student employee's hours weekly.
Assists with the Summer Science Research Program as needed.
May perform other duties not specifically identified above, but which require the same degree of skill and which are normally included within the above job title.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 2:00pm

Qualifications: Prior office experience required. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
