Hofstra University, a private, nonsectarian, co-educational institution, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position in the Department of Health Professions. The successful candidate will join a vibrant MPH Program to teach, engage in scholarship and serve internal and external communities alongside a multi-disciplinary faculty and a diverse student body with a deep commitment to enhancing social justice.
Hofstra’s CEPH-accredited Generalist MPH Program prepares students for careers as scholar-advocates. We place a high priority on community collaboration, interdisciplinary problem-solving, skill application, critical thinking, and teaching students to be good users and doers of research. Our program is enhanced by the community in which we are located. Nassau County is one of the country’s first suburbs and one of the most culturally, ethnically, and racially diverse communities in the nation. | Qualifications: |
Candidates must hold a PhD, DrPH, or MD by 1 August 2021, in Public Health, Global Health, Population Health Sciences, Sociomedical Sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, or closely related public health discipline (includes, but are not limited to, Statistics, Economics, Medicine, Political Science, Psychology, Public Policy, and Sociology). Preference will be given to candidates with an established record or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence, collaborative scholarly activity, mentoring students, and working with local healthcare and community groups. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
