Description: Hofstra University’s Department of Biology invites applications for an adjunct faculty position (adjunct instructor or adjunct assistant/associate/full professor) to teach our general biology lecture and or lab courses) beginning in the fall 2021 semester. The faculty member must be available for at least one to two hours of office hours per week and attend weekly lab instructors meetings. Teaching load is one or two courses per semester; maximum enrollment for a lab section is approximately 20 students.

Qualifications: The desired candidate should have at least a master’s degree in biology or closely related discipline. Prior university teaching experience is strongly preferred. Both a Ph.D. and teaching experience is required for appointment at the Adjunct Assistant Professor or greater level. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
