Description: Hofstra University’s School of Health Professions and Human Services is seeking an anticipated full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor to teach in the graduate program in Creative Arts Therapy Counseling. Responsibilities will include teaching, student advisement, curriculum and course development for classroom and studio adhering to accreditation and licensure required standards, and scholarship and service to the program, department, the School of Health Professions and Human Services, and the University. The new faculty member will collaborate with programs within the department, including Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. This position is anticipated to begin Fall 2022.

Qualifications: Successful candidates for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling and Mental Health Professions will possess the following:
• An earned academic doctoral degree, and a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy.
• Current state licensure in LCAT or NYS license eligible, and ATR-BC national credential.
• A minimum of 2 years full-time (or equivalent) of teaching experience with master’s students in art therapy.
• Able to offer an innovative perspective to diversify the academic nature of the program.
• Knowledge of, and experience with, accreditation criteria (CAAHEP), and knowledge of New York State education curriculum requirements, and state agency regulations.
• Evidence of a developing schedule of scholarship and service.
• A demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, and equity.
