Description: The Department of Radio, Television, Film in Hofstra University’s Lawrence Herbert School of Communication anticipates an opening beginning in Fall 2022 for a tenure track faculty appointment to teach a broad range of single-camera television production courses, with a focus on episodic and/or series narratives. This position is open-rank, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, responsive teacher-practitioner, with professional experience in television directing or producing highly desirable. Ability to teach courses on contemporary television aesthetics will be considered a plus. The preferred candidate should have a terminal degree in a related discipline, or commensurate industry experience with an earned Master’s Degree; and the ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Candidates for tenure-track appointments are expected to establish a successful record of academic scholarship and/or industry-related professional output, as well as participate in service to the department, the school, and the university—including committee work, academic advising and curriculum development. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
