Cook, create, and explore flavors from around the world!
Begin your culinary adventure and discover the art of cooking! Explore a variety of cuisines—from breads and desserts to stir-fries and soups—while learning professional cooking techniques in a fully equipped industrial kitchen. Students will practice safety, knife skills, and food preparation, along with proper sanitation and teamwork in a fun, hands-on environment.
Take-Home Project: A recipe collection and culinary creations made during class.
Culinary Arts Academy: International Cooking
Level up your kitchen skills and explore global flavors!
Bon appétit!! Take your culinary skills to the next level as you build on the fundamentals of cooking and explore both regional and international cuisine. Learn to prepare a variety of dishes inspired by Italian, Mexican, Chinese, German, and American traditions while refining your techniques and creativity in the kitchen.

Culinary Arts Academy: Baking
Whisk, mix, and bake your way to delicious creations!
For the love of baked goods! Learn the art and science behind baking as you master techniques for accurate measuring, mixing, and creating perfect textures. Students will explore artisan bread making, yeast doughs, breakfast pastries, and delectable desserts while preparing a variety of fillings and icings. This hands-on course is perfect for anyone who loves to bake and create sweet (or savory) masterpieces.
Take-Home Project: A selection of student-made baked goods.
Schedule: These are full day programs in Culinary Arts, which will take place at Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center. All classes take place at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm. If you opt to use Hofstra Summer Camps transportation camp times will vary.
