video game camp- GBA
Hofstra Summer Camps partners with Game Builders Academy (GBA) to offer exciting programs that ignite your child's passion for math, science, and technology. Through engaging classes and camps in video game development, robotics, Minecraft, animation, and more, students can apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects. By building video games, creating YouTube videos, and completing other creative endeavors, students develop essential skills like teamwork, creativity, communication, and problem-solving.

Yes, Video Games Can Improve Academic Performance
Research shows that engaging with video games can increase a student’s understanding of schoolwork. A study by researchers from Vanderbilt University in the Journal of Learning Sciences, shows that students who played games as part of their regular curriculum were more engaged in class work -- even boosting their test scores by about half a letter grade in three weeks when teachers used digital games as part of learning.

About Game Builders Academy (GBA)
GBA likes to say, “We don't teach video game development - we teach math, science, technology, critical thinking, problem solving and more, all through video game development.” GBA and Summer Summer Camps want students to learn more than the course material itself. So GBA designs their programs to build academic skills, self-esteem, communication skills, teamwork, cooperation, focus and concentration skills -- with an injection of fun.
