Global Studies and Geography Majors Receive Academic Excellence Awards
On Tuesday, October 2, 2018 the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (HCLAS) held its inaugural Academic Excellence Awards Celebration at the Student Center Theater in the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center. Each department within the four HCLAS schools (School of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts, Peter S. Kalikow School of Government, Public Policy and International Affairs, School of Natural Science and Mathematics and the School of Education) nominated seniors from within their programs based on their outstanding academic accomplishments, as defined by each department, through the second semester of his/her junior year.
Based on their academic achievements and overall contributions to the Department, our nominees were Julianna Cirafesi for Global Studies and Fatimah Mozawalla for Geography. Additionally, several of our double majors received the award from other departments: Haritsa Halepas for Economics (who is studying abroad in Amsterdam this semester), Lois Paquette in History and Abby Normandin in Public Service and Public Policy.
Congratulations to all – we are proud to have you in our Department!
