Sage Davino, Global Studies major awarded the Firestone Fellowship for Undergraduate Research - January 2015
Sage Davino, a junior who is a double major in Global Studies and Sociology, has been chosen to receive the Firestone Fellowship for the Summer of 2015. She will be working with Dr. Linda Longmire of the Global Studies Department over the summer to research human trafficking in minority communities on Long Island and in New York City. Both Sage and Dr. Longmire are thrilled to have the opportunity to conduct research in this subject and share the results with the university. The Firestone Fellowship, established in 2014, is a research award given by the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The award can be given to two students annually, and each student receives a sum of $2,500 to conduct their research. This is the second year in a row that a student from our Department has received the Award.
