Experiential learning for students in the Master of Health Administration and Public Health programs is facilitated through a culminating internship and an independent research project, which complements program course work. Students choose from a variety of exciting internship placements, including hospitals; health institutions; physician’s offices; governmental health agencies; long-term care facilities; health insurance companies; pharmaceutical companies; and community-based advocacy, education and services organizations; and more. Moreover, many graduates find employment opportunities through their internship experiences and networking opportunities throughout their time in the programs.
MS in Health informatics students complete two 100-hour practicums during the program to obtain hands-on experience in many health informatics areas. Students are assigned to a health informatics team at one of the program’s affiliated health systems and rotate throughout their assigned site working in a number of fields such as electronic medical records, health information exchange and integration, and data analytics, among other options.

Students in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy must complete fieldwork under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist and have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across the life span consistent with the mission and goals of the practice setting.

Students in the Master of Science in Sports Science have access to internships at health and fitness centers; community, private, or university-based recreation centers; corporate fitness centers; military science and rehabilitation settings; cardiac rehabilitation, hospital and medical/wellness centers; elite training facilities; professional, collegiate, and high school sports strength and conditioning programs; etc.
