What Can I Do with an HPHS Degree?
Did you know that approximately 25 percent of all new jobs created between now and 2020 will be in the health care industry? The School of Health Professions and Human Services at Hofstra University was created to address the increasing need for qualified professionals to work in the home, the school, the clinic, the work place, the hospital and other health care facilities. Professionals also work with government and community agencies to create policies and programs related to all aspects of health care administration.
The School of Health Professions & Human Services offers programs in athletic training, exercise science, occupational therapy, sports science, community health, health science, health administration, public health, counseling and mental health professions, and speech-language pathology and audiology. In addition to receiving an education in a selected field of study, students are educated in the arts and sciences. Integrating arts and sciences with a health care specialty gives students a foundation for problem-solving and critical thinking, developing oral and written communication skills, and an appreciation of the cultural and economic diversity of local, regional and global communities.
