Planning to look for a teaching position soon?
The following states report teacher shortages!

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) reports that between 2010 and 2019, total enrollment for public and private elementary and secondary schools is expected to grow from 55 million to 58 million. The current rate at which new teachers are entering the profession will not keep pace with this demand, creating a teacher shortage in many areas across the nation. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly half-a-million new teachers will be needed between 2008 and 2018. To read the full report visit http://certificationmap.com/teacher-shortage-areas/

The teacher shortage predicts the greatest need to be in urban and rural schools throughout the Southern and Western portions of the U.S. States. Below is a sample list of states with a predicted shortage. Included are the state websites and contact information where you can obtain requirements regarding certification in that state.
