Top-Ranked in the Region

Two of the nation’s most respected higher education rankings – U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review – say Hofstra’s online MBA program is among the best programs of its kind in the nation, based on the academic program, the quality of the online class experience and attention from professors, the credentials and training of our faculty, and the career outcomes of our students.

No other online MBA program in the New York metropolitan region ranks higher.

Just like our on-campus programs, all our online MBA classes are taught by full-time faculty. Our professors are scholars, mentors and teachers whose global professional experience keeps their courses relevant for enterprising executives seeking to advance their careers.

The faculty in this program have carefully and thoughtfully adapted curriculum to the online format to build strong relationships with and among their students that enhance the learning experience.

Why Zarb?

At Hofstra, we believe that students learn better in small classes and our online MBA is no different.

  • • Each new group, or cohort, starting the online MBA program is limited to 25 students, guaranteeing personal attention and plenty of opportunities to interact with your classmates and professors.
  • • You’ll meet and network with students and faculty during two, intensive four-day on-campus residences that include workshops, team-building activities and corporate visits in nearby New York City.

Most of our online MBA students are full-time professionals with families, so we’ve designed the program to provide maximum flexibility while maintaining the rigorous curriculum that makes a Hofstra degree so valuable in the marketplace.

  • • The 48-credit program has two concentrations: Strategic Business Management and Strategic Healthcare Management.
  • • Pursue your degree at a pace that fits your life: You can complete the online MBA program in as little as twenty months.

Developing a deep understanding of international business management, practices and strategy is an essential part of our online MBA program -- and there’s no better way to do that than seeing for yourself. The global practicum, an 11-day international trip in the summer between the first and second years of the program, is an immersive, cross-cultural experience in the business environment of a different country, including corporate visits and meetings with global leaders. Previous global practicums have visited China, Japan and South Africa.

Carle-Marie Memnon, Class of 2013

Carle-Marie Memnon '13

Senior Director, Educational and Academic Affairs, Hospital for Special Surgery

"I chose Hofstra’s Online MBA primarily because of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business’ reputation. Although the program is considered online, it offers three on -campus residences where students are able to network with professors, business leaders, other students in the cohort and alumni. Knowing that I still have an opportunity to connect with professors is great. Now as an alum, I am able to mentor other students.”

Tim Nersten, Class of 2014

Tim Nersten '14

Director of Equity Quantitative Services, Liquidnet

“Hofstra’s Online MBA was a great experience overall. The structure is helpful for working professionals. Splitting the semester into two seven-week sets of classes allowed us to stay concentrated and focused on our studies without being spread too thin.”

Dr. Christina Brennan, Class of 2015

Dr. Christina Brennan '15

Vice President, Clinical Research, Northwell Health

"The Hofstra Online MBA program allowed me the opportunity to pursue a graduate degree while maintaining a full-time job. Four months after obtaining my MBA with distinction, I was promoted from Director to Vice President of Clinical Research at Northwell Health. This would not have been possible without the graduate education I received at Hofstra.”
