Capital One Bank Business Plan Competition Winners Honored at Awards Luncheon

Throughout the fall of 2012 and spring of 2013, Capital One Bank Small Business Bankers were mentors to participants of Hofstra University’s Skodnek Business Development Center’s Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP). The bankers advised EAP clients on developing business plans, starting/expanding businesses and opportunities for financing. Each program culminated with a Business Plan Competition; 20 entrepreneurs competed to win $10,000 in cash prizes.
Winners for the fall 2012 competition were Diana Merenda - Client Lifecycle Support; Ira Neuberg - Bolt Construction; and Claudia Miletic - Jason and Juliana. Winners for the spring 2013 competition were Peter Behan - Papa Jacks Screen Repair; Ilene Corina – Pulse of NY; and Larry Wilson – Both Ends. They were honored along with other EAP graduates and scholarship winners at an Awards Luncheon at Hofstra University on Friday, June 14, 2013.

On March 8, 2012, the Scott Skodnek Business Development awarded Certificates in Entrepreneurship to participants of the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP). Capital One Bank presented awards to winners of the Business Plan Competition and the Nassau Community College Alumni Association (NCCAA) presented a scholarship award to a graduate of the EAP.
