Vision and Persistence: How strategic projects can still be built

The Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies sponsored a conference titled Vision and Persistence: How strategic projects can still be built. The conference took place on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 from 8:15-11:30 a.m. in the Student Center Theater, Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus.  The conference was presented by Hofstra Law School and the Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University.

 Larry Silverstein, developer of the Freedom Towers on the site of the former World Trade Center, delivered the keynote address.  The conference also featured a panel discussion with the development team behind the new Canon USA headquarters in Melville.   The panel on the Canon headquarters development was moderated by  Assistant Professor Ashira Ostrow of Hofstra Law School and  featured Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy; Town of Huntington Councilman Mark Cuthbertson; Seymour Liebman, executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel, Canon U.S.A., Inc.; Gerald Monter, chief executive officer, The Holiday Organization; and Howard M. Stein, Esq., Chairman of the Real Estate Practice Group, Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP.
