FOR TEACHERS & SCHOOLS P-12 - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Through professional development classes, workshops, and educational materials, (which can be tailored to meet a school’s specific curricular needs) teachers are encouraged to expand their knowledge and discover methods of incorporating object-centered learning into their curricula to enhance learning in multiple disciplines. Sessions utilize the Museum’s collection and exhibitions to examine various topics, appeal to multiple learning styles, and exercise critical thinking skills.

Topics may include:
Interdisciplinary connections
Building visual literacy
Inquiry-based learning
Accessibility and special needs

Fee: $25 per participant

To arrange for professional development at the Hofstra University Museum of Art or in your school, please contact the Museum at 516-463-5672 or email at museum[at]hofstra.edu.
