Bio

Andrew Stambuk, Ph.D., is a longtime faculty member of the English Department at Hofstra University.  He has taught courses in Western literature, eighteenth and nineteenth-century American prose and fiction, twentieth-century American fiction, and modern American fiction.  Professor Stambuk has participated in the First Year Connections Program at Hofstra and developed courses on the literature of New York City, as well as political fiction and drama.  Recently, he has taught classes dedicated to the work of Jhumpa Lahiri and Karen Russell.  His scholarship includes essays on the fiction of Bernard Malamud and the poetry of Robert Frost.  His book, The Man Who Is and Is Not There, is the first full-length study of the prose and poetry of Robert Francis.  It was published by the University of Massachusetts Press in 2011.
