Elaine R. Winston

Dr. Winston earned a B.S. in accounting from Syracuse University, an M.B.A. with a major in finance/operations systems from Fordham University, and an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. with a major in management planning and information systems from the Zicklin School of Business at Bernard M. Baruch College of The City University of New York. Her dissertation is titled The Computer Consultant's Role as a Change Agent in Small Business Engagements: A Qualitative Investigation and Knowledge-based System Proposal.

Prior to coming to Hofstra, Dr. Winston taught at the Zicklin School of Business. In addition, she has industry experience at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc. and SwissRe Holding (North America), Inc. Her articles have been published in the Journal of End User Computing, Information Resources Management Journal, Computer Personnel and Issues in Information Systems. She has written chapters for the books Advanced Topics in End User Computing and the Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology. In addition, she has written many papers that have been published as proceedings of the meetings of the International Association of Computer Information Systems, Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science, Decision Sciences Institute, Americas Conference on Information Systems, and Informs Conference on Information Systems and Technology.

Dr. Winston is on the editorial board of the Journal of Organizational and End User Computing.

Dr. Winston is a member of the Association for Information Systems, Association of Information Systems, the Association of Computing Machinery, Information Resources Management Association and the Decision Sciences Institute.

Dr. Winston is the recipient of the Dean's Research Award for the Zarb School of Business, an academic fellowship and an academic merit award from The City University of New York and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
