Bio

Dr. Miranda holds a Ph.D. and an M.Phil. from Columbia University, an M.S. form Stanford University, and a Civil Engineer Diploma from the Catholic University of Peru. His research and teaching interests include structural mechanics, earthquake engineering, applied probability and random processes, and computational methods in engineering. Prior to joining Hofstra, Dr. Miranda was a member of the scientific staff at Brookhaven National Laboratory, in the Structural and Seismic Engineering Group of the Nuclear Science and Technology Department.
