Bio
Professor Rojas-Murillo is a passionate Industrial Engineer. He pursued his BS, Masters and Ph.D, in the industrial engineering discipline. His area of interest and research is in the field of human factors and ergonomics. He is particularly interested in designing work systems and training programs around human capabilities specially in relationship to visual cognition and visual interpretation.
His previous faculty experience includes seven years of teaching at different Universities in Mexico where he taught multiple Industrial Engineering courses for Business and Engineering students at undergraduate and graduate levels. In traditional and on-line modalities.
His professional experience also includes several years in the assembly line with manufacturing companies such as Vf Jeanswear (Lee/Wrangler) and Blinds to Go. During his Ph.D. studies he had the opportunity to work as a research engineer for The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he performed discrete simulation studies to reduce patient's waiting time.
Professor Rojas-Murillo joined Hofstra University in the Fall of 2017, he is currently teaching Industrial Engineering related courses such engineering economics, operations research (Logistics) and Methods Engineering and he is scheduled to teach courses related to human factors and human computer interaction, discrete event simulation and engineering economics in the Fall of 2018.
Professional & Technical Memberships:
He is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. During his BS studies, he was the president founder of the IISE student's chapter #853, and he was a recipient of the excellence scholarship from the Mexican National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT).
