Lisa White is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at Hofstra Law School. White joins Hofstra after a 7-year stint at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where she was an Assistant District Attorney and Senior Investigative Counsel in the Major Economic Crimes Bureau. White’s prosecutorial work at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office focused on complex white collar matters including money laundering, securities and investment fraud, and tax fraud. Prior to her work as a prosecutor, White was a Senior Counsel in the Taxpayer Protection Bureau at the New York State Attorney General’s Office and a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where she was a member of the firm’s Criminal Defense & Investigations Group and Labor & Employment Group. White also clerked for the late Honorable Thomas C. Platt in the Eastern District of New York.

She has a J.D. magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School and a B.F.A. from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
