Community Health and Health Science

Students majoring in either Community Health or Health Science have access to many coveted internships, both on and off campus, including at prestigious hospitals, agencies, and organizations such as:

Athletic Training and Exercise Science

Students majoring in Athletic Training or Exercise Science have access to internships at health and fitness centers; physical therapy and chiropractic clinics; personal trainer organizations; cardiac rehabilitation clinics; pulmonary rehabilitation clinics; strength and conditioning affiliations; elite athletic performance centers; and corporate wellness affiliations; as well as various colleges and universities, secondary schools, and other medical facilities.

Graduate Programs

Master of Health Administration and Public Health Programs

Experiential learning for students in the Master of Health Administration and Public Health programs is facilitated through a culminating internship and an independent research project, which complements program coursework. Students choose from a variety of exciting internship placements, including hospitals; health institutions; physicians' offices; governmental health agencies; long-term care facilities; health insurance companies; pharmaceutical companies; and community-based advocacy, education, and services organizations. Moreover, many graduates find employment opportunities through their internship experiences and networking opportunities throughout their time in the programs.

MS in Health Informatics

MS in Health Informatics students complete two 100-hour practicums during the program to obtain hands-on experience in many health informatics areas. Students are assigned to a health informatics team at one of the program's affiliated health systems and rotate throughout their assigned site working in a number of fields, such as electronic medical records, health information exchange and integration, and data analytics.

MSEd in Health Professions Education

Students in the Master of Science in Education in Health Professions Education complete a four-day Residency Week, which provides an opportunity to synthesize and apply the principles and concepts from the program courses while participating in intensive, face-to-face classroom education- and leadership-focused activities with their peers.

The goal of Residency Week is to provide an intensive teaching and learning experience that complements the program curriculum with opportunities for face-to-face collaboration and hands-on learning, and deepens connections between learners and instructors.

MS in Occupational Therapy

Students in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy must complete fieldwork under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist and have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across the life span consistent with the mission and goals of the practice setting.

MS in Sports Science

Students in the Master of Science in Sports Science have access to internships at health and fitness centers; community, private, or university-based recreation centers; corporate fitness centers; military science and rehabilitation settings; cardiac rehabilitation, hospital, and medical/wellness centers; elite training facilities; professional, collegiate, and high school sports strength and conditioning programs; etc.
