Schedule
The Department of Mathematics runs an in-person tutoring center in Room 301 Roosevelt Hall. No appointment is necessary. Just stop by with your textbook and/or homework, and ask your questions as they arise. The center is open five days a week and serves students registered for MATH 6A, 40, 45, 50, 61, 61A, 71, and 72.

How to access the Zoom Room
On Blackboard, locate the course titled Math Tutoring, then find the link on the left menu titled Zoom Room. Then follow the steps below:
- Click on Zoom Room and it will take you to the schedule.
- Then click on Join
- If prompted (this maybe unnecessary), follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Zoom software.
- If prompted, click on Join with Computer Audio.
If you are planning to use a tablet or phone, you’ll need to download the app in advance. In that case, the way to log in is by selecting SSO to sign in and entering “Hofstra” as the company domain. This will redirect you to your Hofstra portal.
Some tips:
- Use the Microphone/Mute button to turn the microphone on/off and adjust settings. Use the Start Video buttons to turn the webcam on/off and adjust settings.
- Click Share to open a screen share to show a document you would like to share, including a Word file, a pdf file, PowerPoints, websites, etc.
- Click Chat to open up the chat text box.
