The Pride Network
The Pride Network: Hofstra University Chapter was founded in the fall of 2008. Since that time, many different educational, political, social and advocacy programs have been organized.
Some annual programs include a Drag Show, an AIDS research benefit show, a Gay and Greek campaign and a game show called GAYDAR. Every year the group reaches out to many different organizations and departments, such as NAACP, the Office of Multicultural and International Student Programing, HaHaHofstra, Sigma Iota Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, and the Center for Civic Engagement.
We have also brought many guest speakers to the school, including Malcolm Lazin; the Executive Director of Equality Forum and founder of National GLBT History Month, the President of Marriage Equality New York, and more.
The Pride Network is an organization, powered by young adults, uniting people, companies, and organizations with the GLBT movement. The Pride Network, encourages the self-expression of GLBT artists and their allies through support, promotion, and production of media. The Pride Network works to end bias and prejudice by providing education and practical solutions to facilitate change.
