SGA Vice-President Welcome Letter:

Dear Hofstra Pride,

My name is Abby Normandin and I am so honored to serve as your Vice President this year!

This is such an exciting time for Hofstra Students and the Student Government Association. The 82nd Senate is in full swing after electing 40 Senators and 6 Justices to our governing bodies. I know first-hand that each and every SGA member that is representing you at the table truly has your best interests and well-being at heart.

SGA's mission is to advocate for students, allocate resources, and cultivate community. President Cinquemani and I plan on holding each of these values near and dear to our hearts throughout this year.

We believe that advocating for students requires interacting with students to better understand their lived experiences. This is why part of our vision for the 82nd Senate is to increase SGA programming, up the amount of polling that SGA does on a regular basis, and to collaborate more with other organizations.

We believe that allocating resources can only be done fairly if SGA understands the mission behind each student-run organization on campus. This is why President Cinquemani and I plan to promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through co-sponsorships and personal involvement with student initiatives. We want to know you by name and attend your incredible events so that we can see first-hand all that Hofstra students are passionate about.

We believe that cultivating community requires that each student feels at home on Hofstra's campus. Whether it means getting involved in a club, attending sporting events and on-campus performances, or finding a group of students who share your passions, we want to connect you with the resources you need to do so.

At the end of the day, President Cinquemani and I are only here because of you. I want to channel all of my energy towards initiatives and issues that you care about. Please never hesitate to reach out and let me know what you're working on and how SGA can help you; stop by our office, send me an email, or even just say "hi" on the unispan. I truly look forward to hearing your story and how SGA can be a part of it.

I am honored and excited to serve the Hofstra community and wish you the very best this year.

Abby Normandin

Vice President
