Transfer Student Life

Hofstra is the right choice for transfer students.

Transfer Scholarships

All admitted students are reviewed for merit-based scholarships at the time of acceptance, so no additional application is necessary. Scholarships are determined by the information supplied in your application and by the cumulative GPA earned at the time of admission. Priority is given to students who complete their application by March 1 for fall and November 15 for spring. Merit-based scholarships are subject to change, and exact amounts vary from semester to semester. All scholarships are awarded on a funds-available basis.

Residence Life

Hofstra’s Office of Residence Life offers a variety of comfortable living environments designed to meet the diverse needs of more than 3,600 resident students. Six of the 35 residence halls are high-rises, and four other halls contain suite-style arrangements. Each hall is staffed by resident directors and resident assistants.

Prepare for Your Future Career

Hofstra’s Career Center encourages students to start preparing for their careers from their first day on campus and continues to provide career resources long after graduation. Through The Career Center, you’ll have access to representatives from hundreds of organizations who visit campus each year. Plus The Career Center offers a wide range of resource materials, workshops, and services that allow you to explore, select and pursue a meaningful career.

Part-time Studies at Hofstra

Hofstra’s part-time students enjoy nearly the same range of academic options as full-time students. Plus, to accommodate the needs of those attending classes in the evening, the Center for University Advising, The Career Center, and other administrative offices offer extended hours – which enables you to make appointments in the evening or on the weekend. Also, nearly all of Hofstra’s facilities, from the Mack Student Center and Student Counseling Services to Student Computing Services, Axinn Library and the Mack Fitness Center, are open evenings and weekends. Your HofstraCard entitles you to access all that’s available on the Hofstra campus.
