Hofstra Celebrates the Holidays

The Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement invites the Hofstra community to the annual Hofstra Celebrates the Holidays Celebration & Lighting Ceremony. Since 1983 this ceremony marked the kick off to the holiday season with the Hofstra Community. Not long ago, this event was referred to as "Sinterklaas" which is the traditional winter holiday figure in the Netherlands. For many years we used this as the name of our celebration to tie in Hofstra's Dutch heritage. Over the years the University's population has grown and changed significantly. We changed the name to "Hofstra Celebrates the Holidays" to embrace the diversity within our community and share this special celebration with all cultures and faiths. Come join us help spread the holiday spirit throughout the Hofstra Community.
