HandShake

Handshake replaces the old Pride-CMS system, and you'll be able to use it for a wide-variety of functions, including: Connecting with employers; finding jobs and internships locally, regionally and globally; learning about career events at Hofstra; and much more.

Please note: When you first log into Handshake, you will be prompted to fill out a profile. We strongly recommend you fill it out completely and professionally, since this is part of how employers will be able to find you and interact with you as an applicant to their openings.

CareerHub

Think of Hofstra Career Hub as your starting point for any  resources you may need related to your career, and it is the access point to all of our online resources, including the new Handshake system, Big Interview, Career Leader, MBA Exchange, GoinGlobal, and others.

To access both Handshake and the new Career Hub, just go to http://hofstra.edu/careerhub and log in with your ID and password (just like the portal). You will notice the Handshake icon on the far right.

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITMENT
Each semester, a formal recruitment program is organized with participating companies to post available positions and schedule a date to come to campus to conduct interviews of invited candidates. Students who wish to participate must attend at least one On-Campus Recruitment Orientation to be enrolled in the program (usually in the first month of the semester) and must get their account reactivated at the beginning of each school year thereafter September. Note: There are deadlines to participate in the program, so it is advisable to inquire at the beginning of the semester as to the orientation dates. The program is only open to current students.

JOB AND INTERNSHIP SEARCH/APPLICATIONS
Employer job and internship postings are updated daily. From Handshake, you will be able to upload resumes, cover letters, unofficial transcripts and writing samples via the Documents feature. This will enable you to directly apply for positions posted on the system and the Applications feature will keep track of positions you have applied to.  There are two job search options: positions exclusive to Hofstra and the NACELink option, which is a national job search.

HOFSTRA CAREER FAIRS
Throughout the school year, specialized career fairs and general job and internship fairs are held. Typically, there is an Accounting, Finance & IT Fair in September, and a general career fair in October and March.  Handshake will post a list of upcoming fairs under the Events feature and you will be able to view employer information, as well as a list of positions they are recruiting for.

REGISTER FOR MBA/MS EVENTS, PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS:
On Handshake you will find a complete listing of scheduled workshops, Executive Speaker Series, corporate information sessions, and on-campus conferences posted in the "Events" under "Workshops." Note: You can view all MBA/MS-related programming and register for each event by searching for the keywords "MBA/MS" in the events search box.
