Themed Living Communities

Do you and your friends share an interest that you would like to incorporate into your residential experience? If so, themed Living allows you and your friends who share similar interests or academic pursuits to live together. You can create your own or select from one of the themes listed but not limited to; Gender Inclusive, New to New York, Hofstra VS Zombies, Fitness, or if you don't see it you can create it!

Themed Living Communities offer upperclassmen who share educational, social, or extracurricular interests the opportunity to live together in Nassau Hall and/or the 14th floor of Constitution if Gender Inclusive TLC is selected. TLC residents explore their passions with a cohort of like-minded residents and enjoy an increased sense of belonging. These communities are open to all students, regardless of major.

All Themed Living Communities (TLC's) are located in Nassau Hall and the 14 floor of Constitution Hall if Gender Inclusive TLC is selected. Students approved to reside in TLC's are required to host two (2) educational initiatives each academic year. An educational initiative can be anything that increases knowledge about the community's area of interest. It can be hosting a discussion, creating a blog, screening a film, or displaying thought-provoking artwork on the Bulletin Boards in the hallway on their floor. The audience can be as small as a four-person suite community or as large as the entire floor. Students residing in the TLC's are not guaranteed the ability to homestead their space during room selection for the following year. By choosing a TLC, you are indicating that living in one of these communities is your first choice for housing.

How to apply:

  1. Submit your housing deposit
  2. Submit your housing application
  3. Complete TLC questions

Students accepted into the TLC program will be notified with additional information regarding the TLC Room Selection process. The deadline to apply for the TLC program is before the general housing selection deadline each year.
