Bring a validated Hofstra ID.
Hofstra students may use any lab simply by swiping their valid Hofstra IDs at the desk. A student cannot be admitted without a valid ID.
Know what you need to use.
If your instructor has given you a computer assignment, know the name of the language or software package you are expected to use.
Always bring any notes or materials you've been given for the computer assignment.
You can bring a USB flash drive or a CD-RW.
These are used to save your work. The PCs have CD-RW drives as well as USB ports conveniently located on the front of the
computer. Any of these items may be purchased at the Hofstra University Bookstore, and are not sold in the labs.

You need to have an ID is to confirm that you are enrolled at Hofstra and that you have paid for your classes. The only way we can know this is by checking for valid ID; we'd like to be able to take your word for it, but you need to have ID.

If they do not have a valid ID, they cannot enter the lab.

There are a few guidelines we all follow to ensure that the computer labs are used appropriately:
The computers are to be used for academic purposes only.
Playing computer games, day trading, and use of these systems for profit is not permitted.
No food or drinks allowed in the lab.
Inappropriate and disruptive behavior is not permitted in the lab.
You are responsible for your account, so be sure to log out before leaving.
You are allowed to listen to audio, but you must bring and use your own headphones.View the full version of Hofstra's Acceptable Use Guidelines
