This outrageous 1993 comedy takes place in a bridal reception in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the mid 1980s. Over the course of an hour and a half, numerous cocktails and other controlled substances, the play investigates the relationships, intrigues and traumas of a group of bridesmaids behind the scenes at a wedding none of them really wanted to attend.
Show times: Fridays, April 12 and 19, at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, April 13 and 20, at 8 p.m.; Sundays, April 14 and 21, at 2 p.m.; and Thursday, April 18, at 8 p.m.

Location: John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus
Featuring guest choreographer David Parker, artistic director of The Bang Group, who will create an exciting new piece on the Hofstra dance majors. Additionally, Nancy Duncan, producing director of CoDanceCo, Inc. as well as Dancing Classrooms Long Island, will be restaging Bebe Miller’s 1983 work Guardian Angels. Miller, a recipient of the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship among many other awards, is currently a full-time professor in the Ohio State University Dance Department. Hofstra faculty choreographers include Stormy Brandenberger, Anita Feldman, Dyane Harvey-Salaam, and Maxine Steinman.
Show times: Thursday, April 25, at 8 p.m.; Friday, April 26, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 27, at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, April 28, at 2 p.m.

Love versus civic responsibility creates a dilemma for Antony that neither he nor Cleopatra can resolve or survive. One of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies is grounded in the historical facts of one of history’s most famous romantic couples.
